Fuelling A Giant: Amazon UK

Amazon UK approached us with the task of catering to 23 of their UK logistic sites over the Christmas season.

We were tasked with elevating both quality and volume.

Amazon highlighted the specific issue they had been having with previous suppliers they had hired to fulfil this role was that they were only supplying instant ‘Burger van’ style coffees which didn’t taste great and were slow to serve.

The quality of our coffee is at the heart of our success.

Our approach to overcoming this problem was to invest in commercial magnum instant machines for every unit at each site. This allowed us to provide a higher quality instant coffee,at a better value for money which could be made much quicker and therefore produce more drinks per hour for the fast-paced environment of an Amazon logistic site; where lots of people want a drink but time is precious. In order to handle the number of sites required by Amazon, we opted to invest in 12 shipping containers and convert them into fully functioning catering units to boost our inventory. This was completed in just a three-week period before the contract began.

For this specific contract we implemented two employees to exclusively manage the 23 sites for the entire month, moving between all the sites delivering items of stock and resolving any problems as they emerged. This enabled us to provide a practical and direct service for each individual site.

Make it stand out.

This was vital for Amazon, being an international company, issues need to be solved quickly and effectively and we made it a fundamental intention to always be on call anytime of the day for our contacts at site.

We aim to incorporate this ethos into our future contracts, be it a large corporate event or a private wedding, we realise how important it is to be easily contactable and proactive to offer assistance when it's required.
