Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Working at such a wide array of events throughout the year we do get the chance to work in a lot of different places around the country and see a lot of different things. So which job has been our favourite? Well, there are definitely a few contenders, but there is one that sticks out among the rest in the memory bank. Drumroll…Sail GP in Plymouth!

Firstly, the weather was perfect for the whole weekend, which is always a good place to start when choosing your ideal event. It was so good it almost felt like we were abroad, so a big tick there. (Luckily still enough wind knocking around for sailing though!)

Our pitch for this one was located right on the Hoe in Plymouth which has a perfect view of the bay below. This meant we were able to see the whole event unfold below us throughout the day which was an unexpected treat. With the running commentary of the action coming through the PA system, we felt like spectators ourselves and were able to witness every race as it happened, and even when the boats weren’t flying around the bay – the DJ took care of entertainment in style. Quite often when we go to events, although we are there in the thick of it, we are often either in a position that is a slight distance away from the main spectacles or we’re far too busy to even think about getting out of the unit and having a wander around to see some of what’s happening.

So, it was certainly a nice change to look up and be able to see the main event straight out of the front hatch! I mean look at those pictures…as views go while you’re working it doesn’t get much better than that! To add to this, we had a solid group of 6 of our friends drafted into the ranks as staff for this weekend which always helps to make it a fun weekend for everyone, even while we’re working.
